Code of Conduct
Membership Code of Conduct:
This document sets the code of conduct expected of all members of the Cranford Newcomers Club and is a condition of membership.
Cranford Newcomers is a community. Our success as a club relies on this community continuing to be a place where we can come together to make connections with neighbors.
To do this, we need to create spaces that are welcoming and inclusive. The code of conduct outlined below is meant to provide positive guidance toward meeting that goal.
Should a member fail to meet the conditions in this Code of Conduct through their behavior, Cranford Newcomers Club may, at its sole discretion, decide on the appropriate action to take. Newcomers reserves the right to revoke membership that has been granted, in the event that a member violates the Membership Code of Conduct.
As a Member of Cranford Newcomers Club, I will:
Always show respect to fellow club members at all times;
Never use abusive or vulgar language, or make racial, ethnic, or gender-related slurs or derogatory comments at club events;
Act in the general interest and will not use my position to unfairly benefit myself or others;
Promptly pay membership fees as part of continued membership and keep my information updated;
Not make any statement on behalf of the club or act to represent Newcomers Club in any official capacity through any public medium, including digital social media, unless authorized to do so by Newcomers Board;
Conduct all business with club members in a professional and respectful manner.
We meet at the Hanson House in Cranford on the second Tuesday of the month beginning at 7:45pm, from September to June (with the exception of February). The Hanson House is located at 38 Springfield Avenue and is home to the Cranford Historical Society. Our general meetings occasionally have guest speakers of interest to the group, on topics such as healthy living, financial planning and child-rearing.
All club activities are managed through Meetup.com. Please visit the “How to Join” tab at the top of the page for instructions on joining the club.
